UMA Pictures is a production company located in Sweden, run by award-winning filmmaker Uta Arning. The company focusses on international projects in the field in both fiction and non-fiction entertainment.

Uta Arning is dedicated to creating compelling, character-driven stories for film and TV. She has worked across various genres and formats in diverse cultural contexts, from independent short films to feature films and XR projects. Her most challenging production was her debut feature film, completed in Japan, showcasing her ability to navigate complex international productions.

Her recent work includes a short documentary currently streaming on SVT Play and a feature-length SVT documentary where she served as production manager. She also likes to explore new techniques. Her VR horror experience Mylings received support by the Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein Film Fund and was showcased at Miami Filmgate. Her films, known for their emotional depth, unique perspectives, and visual artistry, have received recognition at international film festivals.

Renowned for her collaborative approach and strong leadership, Uta excels at bringing out the best in her cast and crew. She holds an MFA in Film from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and a Master’s degree in International Management from Germany and Japan. She has taught courses in screenwriting and film production and remains committed to fostering new talent and creating content that resonates with audiences worldwide.
